Body-Alchemy Performance - Momo Butoh Dance Company
A midday movement/voice improvisation inspired by an interactive alchemy between human bodies and the ever shifting sensual and elemental landscape of ARISE festival. Dancers respond to sounds and images and reveal their inner passion.
Scored and directed by Maureen Momo Freehill who performs daily noon with Momobutoh Dancers.
Maureen Momo Freehill, MFA is Founder/Artistic Director of Butopia Retreat Center; offering nature- based retreats, performances & intuitive somatic wellness training on Whidbey Island, WA (www.butopia.net). She's also faculty and board member of non-profit NatureMoves based in Boulder area (www.naturemoves.org) dedicated to nurturing embodied creative intimacy between humans and the natural world. With over 30 years experience as an improvisational performer, educator, director and coach she's recognized internationally for innovative fusing of eastern & western modalities with nature while viewing performance as a vehicle for fostering personal, cultural & global wholeness. We must do everything in our power to help the children to develop fantasy. With this Waldorf-Inspired puppetry, living play is inbued with inner imagination and fantasy! Puppet shows draw children into a story, watching it unfold step by step, grow and change, and these pictures are taken right into the stream of thier life forces, without creating hard and fixed impressions. They draw forth from children their imagination and allow the story to take them where they need to go as far as the inner life working pictures. Join Vanessa in this Magical Puppetry workshop!
