Lunar Fire. Tribal Cirque. Aerial & Fire Dance. Live Electronic World Music.
Let go of all familiarity and climb into a world of fantasy, alchemy, dreams & archetypes with LUNAR FIRE. The visuals mesmerize. The music hypnotizes. Lunar Fire storytellers weave electronic based world music with theatrical aerial and fire dance to create New Myths for Modern Tribes. “Musical impresarios and masters of illusion.” Denver Westword.
Lunar Fire’s Luminescent Dance Theatre includes actors, aerialists, acrobats, fire spinners, interactive video performance, urban & ethnic world dance: Temple & Belly, Latin Salsa & Zouk, Hip Hop & Traditional African. Blending modern with ancient, Lunar Fire music ranges from electronic ballads to acoustic instrumentals with male vocalists chanting while female vocalists rap in english and spanish to Latin glitch hop, tribal drumming and Native flutes. “Completely blew my mind… reminiscent of Thievery Corporation.” Amber Taufen, Westword
Lunar Fire formed in 2002 beside the volcanoes of Lake Atitlan in the Mayan heartland of Guatemala, when legendary rhythm section & dance troupe of tribal rock band Kan’Nal expanded mythic storylines into fully choreographed dance theatre. Growing into a festival favorite with a dedicated following, Lunar Fire tours internationally with a home base in Colorado. “A surreal, spiritual and profound experience.” Best of List, Denver Westword.
LUNAR FIRE COLLECTIVE co-creations involve a multimedia trans-cultural musical spectacle whose aim is to inspire, connect and empower people to create positive change in the world. With a dynamic blend of the arts, Lunar Fire enacts the tales of the ancestors bridging the past and present while foretelling a future in which humankind reaches its fullest potential. Many Lunar Fire Collective events dedicate a portion of the proceeds to benefit arts, arts education and sustainability projects by women and indigenous people across the globe.
